so, i know i just had an update thread posted a few days ago, but i've added a new feature to the site that i'm excited to share with you guys [:
okay, so for those of you don't know, proboards offers a live chat feature, which is pretty much like an IC box, but a chat room. you can find the link to it underneath the main banner of the site or you can click: here.
now, your computer needs to have the latest java update, and if you cannot see the chatroom, that's probably why. it won't mess up your computer and it's esay and quick to download simply by going to the java website. basically, when you go to the live chat page, there is a place to type in a username and this can be changed at anytime. you can make up a screen name for your character or just use their name, it doesn't really matter.
the differences between IC and LC
- IC stands for in character chat, while LC stands for live chat.
- IC should be played out like mini threading, while LC is simply a place to chat amongst fellow characters on museless days
- in the IC, you have to click a refresh button. LC automatically updates things once someone posts, like an instant messenger
- in IC, everyone can see what you're posting. in LC, you can have private convos between characters by clicking on their name
* live chat is in character. to talk out of character, use the regular cbox.
** if you want to LC, simply request it in the main cbox, i guarantee that someone will want to join in. LC is usually more enjoyable with more characters in it
